Girl killed in celebratory firing

An eight-year-old girl was killed during celebratory firing at a function here, police said today.

Sandhya was hit by a stray bullet fired by Vinod, Agad and Anand from their licensed guns during a function in the Khewli village in Deva area here last night, they said.

The victim died on the spot.

The accused were later caught by villagers and beaten up before handing them over to the police.

A case has been registered in this connection while further probe is on, police added.
