Hundreds of girl students today blocked the Jhajjar-Rohtak highway near Dighal village for about two hours, demanding dedicated buses for women.
Claiming that travelling in private buses and jeeps have become difficult for them, a protesting student said, "Hundreds of girls from nearby villages go to schools and colleges in Rohtak and Jhajjar in private buses and jeeps, which are increasingly becoming unsafe for them."
She said despite repeated requests, the district administration had not paid any heed to their demand, forcing them to block the road near National Highways Authority of India Toll Plaza.
