In a major haul, 11.67 kgs of gold biscuits valued at about Rs 3.5 crore were today seized from four passengers, who arrived in different flights from the Gulf at Karipur international airport near here.
Officials of DRI and Air Customs during a check found gold biscuits weighing 1.67 kgs worth Rs 49 lakh concealed inside an emergency lamp in the baggage of one Kari Muhammed Shamseer who came from Sharjah, police said.
Gold biscuits weighing three kgs and worth Rs 84 lakh were found concealed inside electronic equipments in the luggage of one Shihabuddin, who arrived from another gulf nation.

In the third incident, gold biscuits weighing 3.5 kgs each and totally worth Rs 2.16 were seized from two persons. They were found hidden inside the emergency lamps of the baggages of Noushad Stalin and Hasish, who arrived from Sharjah, police said.
All the four were taken into custody, they said.
