Gold worth over Rs 1 crore seized

Three persons were arrested with gold worth Rs 1.55 crores from Sonauli area on Indo-Nepal border here, custom officials said today.

Minaz, Abid and Firoj belonging to Kinnur district in Kerala, were arrested last night during a routine checking and 5 kilogram of gold worth Rs One crore and 55 lakh was seized from them, Custom Officer, Bijendra Chaudhary said.

A case has been registered and investigations are on, he added.
