One kg gold valuing worth Rs 31 lakh was seized from the possession of two persons including an NRI, who were arrested from from Sonauli area on Indo-Nepal border here, SSB officials said today.
The accused, identified as Harprit Singh from London and Pramprit Singh from Gurgaon, were arrested yesterday night during a routine check by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans, SSB commandant, K S Bankhothi said.
One kilogram of gold worth Rs 31 lakh was recovered from them, he said adding that both accused have been handed over to customs authorities.
