Gold worth Rs 2.5 crore seized at Kozhikode airport

Gold weighing 6.8 kg and worth Rs 2.5 crore was Tuesday seized from three people who arrived at Kozhikode International Airport from Sharjah, customs officials said.
The three passengers and a person who came to the airport to receive them have been detained by the Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs, Customs Commissioner Sumit Kumar said.
The gold was extracted from 9 kg of paste, officials added.
