The Jammu and Kashmir government is determined to improve basic services for people of the state, minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma said.
"The government is firm in its resolve to improve basic services in all the regions of the state especially in rural and far-flung areas," he said addressing public meetings in Poonch and Rajouri yesterday.
The government had focused its attention on upgrading the existing infrastructure in all vital sectors like public health engineering, health, education, road connectivity and social welfare during the past five years, he said.

To solve drinking water problem in twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri, he directed engineers to formulate mega schemes keeping in view future requirements.
