Six persons, including a six-year old boy, were killed when their car hit the railings of a bridge at Valliyur near here today.
Five persons, belonging to two different families, were proceeding from Nagercoil to Tirunelveli in the car when the vehicle met with the accident, killing them and the driver on the spot, police said.
The victims were identified as Rasaiah, his wife Padmavathi, Kovilraj his spouse Kalaiselvi and their son Saravanan and driver Murugan.
Both the families belong to Rajakkamangalam in Kanyakumari District.
Local people said the area was highly accident-prone and demanded measures to prevent mishaps.
