The doctors of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Medical College today refused to attend to the patients in emergency ward.

Confirming this, Navneet Kumar, Principal of the medical college, said that the hospital management was speaking to the striking doctors and police officials to figure out ways to end the strike.

Jitendra Singh, Resident doctor of Cardiology department, had alleged that three police officials had stopped him on Burra flyover late night on Monday when he was going to the hospital, and beat him due to which he suffered injuries to his eyes and internal body parts.

On getting information about the incident, the junior doctors at the hospital reportedly went on strike demanding action against the police officials involved.

Kumar said senior doctors have taken the charge at the medical college and the other wards but due to large number of patients some are being referred to other hospitals.
