Govt medical college gets recognition of Union Health Ministry

The Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute sponsored by the Puducherry government has been granted recognition by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has granted recognition to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute to award MBBS degrees to the students on or after 2014, a government release said here.

Consequent to the recognition the students passing out of the college would be able to get permanent registration from Tamil Nadu Medical council for commencing medical ractice and also for pursuing post graduate medical education.
