The horticulture department in Jammu has identified two villages in Akhnoor tehsil for developing them as the model mango villages to promote their production during current rainy season.
Each with an area of over 100 hectares potential land, the villages include Malla Barode in Khour block andSungal in Akhnoor block.
Both the villages are famous for mango production.
Pit digging work over an area of 15 hectare has already been completed involving 46 beneficiaries ofMalla Barode village.
