Groundnut oil prices fell sharply an otherwise listless Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market due to poor offtake from stockists and retailers amid expectation of new crop arrivals.
Refined palmolein, on the other hand gained marginally owing to better domestic offtake.
Elsewhere, castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil continued to rule steady in the absence of any worthwhile demand from industrial users.
In the edible segment, groundnut oil plunged by Rs 15 per 10kg to Rs 770 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 785, while refined palmolein added by Re 1 per 10kg to Rs 485 from Rs 484 previously.
Moving to non-edible section, castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseeds oil all closed unaltered at Rs 4,100 per 100kg, Rs 850 per 10kg and Rs 750 per 10kg, respectively.
