An illegal gutka manufacturing unit was today unearthed and five persons were arrested in this connection at Hinjili in Ganjam district, police said.
Acting on a tip off, a police team raided a house and arrested the persons. Mixture machines, automatic packing machines, ten bags of gutka pouches, spices used in gutka and empty pouches were seized from the house, Hinjili PS Inspector in-charge PK Sahoo said.
The owner of the unit was also among the persons arrested, he said.

A mini truck, a motorcycle and some other articles were also seized from the site, police said.
A case has been registered and investigation is underway, they said.
