Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam President Kamal Haasan today greeted H D Kumaraswamy on his taking over as Chief Minister of Karnataka.
"I thank the CM of Karnataka @hd_kumaraswamy for inviting me.
Hearty congratulations to the new Govt. It's a good starting point for a dialogue between our states," Haasan said in a tweet after calling on Kumaraswamy at Vidhan Soudha, the state secretariat.
Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are locked in dispute over the sharing of Cauvery water.
Haasan said his meeting with the chief minister also acted as a platform for "healthy exchange" of views with all other party leaders, he said.
"Curious to see what follows," he said.
MNM sources said during his visit to Bengaluru, Haasan met UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayansamy, CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
