Half charred body of girl found in Tamil Nadu

A partially charred body of a girl was found at Veerakeralam on the city outskirts early today, police said.

The body bore injuries behind the head and two iron rods were found lying near it. There were car-tyre marks near the area, with two pairs of chappals lying nearby, police said.

Police also recovered a bead chain, usually used by North Indian girls, they said.

Further investigations are on, police said, adding, from the body's appearance, the deceased was between 12 to 13 years old.
