Hand grenade explodes

A medium-intensity hand grenade, hurled by unidentified men, exploded at the residential gate of Chief Engineer G Robindro Sharma of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department here last night, said Manipur police.

Police said the bomb attack which caused no casualties occurred around 7.30 pm at the densely populated Uripok Baschapati locality in Imphal West district.

Meanwhile, locals staged sit-in protest to condemn the blast and demanded that the outfit involved should own up.
