A hardcore Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) militant and bomb expert was apprehended with weapons by a joint team of Army and police at Rani near here today, defence sources said.
Based on specific intelligence, the troops of the Red Horn Division and police nabbed KLO extremist identified as Hareshwar Rai alias Kaltu of Kokrajhar district, the sources said.
The insurgent is an expert in making bombs and Improvised Explosive Devices(IEDs) and an associate of recently killed KLO 'District Commander' Samar Rai.
A 9mm pistol (Norinco Chinese make) with ammunition and four electric detonators were recovered from, they added.
