Hardik in Delhi, to hold talks with quota-stir leaders

He had brought Ahmedabad to a standstill on Aug 25 with a massive show of support that went violent after police detained him

Hardik Patel, who is spearheading the Patel quota agitation, is today expected to hold talks with quota stir leaders, including Gujjars and Jats in the national capital.

Hardik said that he has come to Delhi to make future plan of action and not to meet any ministers.



"We have to take this issue all across the country. And, through cooperation of everyone, the issue of reservation has to be explained to every person, society and state. Reservation has set India 35 years behind," the 22-year-old leader of the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti told reporters.

"We will be holding talks with leaders of other communities demanding reservation and see how the movement could be taken forward," said on aide of Hardik, who will address a news conference later in the day.

Hardik has galvanised the dominant Patel community in Gujarat on the reservation demand.

The B.Com. Graduate had brought Ahmedabad to a standstill On August 25 with a massive show of support that took a violent turn following his brief detention by police. In subsequent violence, 10 persons were killed and many injured, prompting authorities to clamp curfew in parts of the city.
