The office of Advocate General in Haryana today said it has decided to remove old records of cases which have been decided, after the state government expressed its inability in providing storage space.
Before removing the files, all heads of departments will be urged to take back their court files within one month, failing which, they would be removed, a government spokesman today said.
Cases from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010 in civil matters and from January 1 to December 31, 2011 for criminal matters as well as cause lists of the High Court will be removed, he said.

The Advocate General had been pursuing with Chief Secretary and administration of Justice Department for additional space so that files of old decided cases could be stacked at alternative places, the spokesman said.
But, the government had expressed its inability and conveyed that there was no space available, he said, adding that situation in the record room has become precarious and is creating unhygienic condition for the staff working in there.
