HC dismisses PIL seeking minimum wage for housewives

A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice K Vinodchandran, dismissed the petition in limine by Women's Voice, an NGO of Sultan Bathery in Wayanad.

According to the petitioner, the women spent 10-14 hours a day in household chores, while in rural areas they spend the whole day for such activities.

As per international studies, women do USD 11 lakh crore work of unpaid housework worldwide.
