HC quashes notification on in-service PG Medical candidates

Allowing a batch of petitions challenging the notificiation, a division bench comprising Acting Chief justice Manjula Chellur and Justice V Chidambaresh said granting privilege to a group of candidates was discriminatory and against the object of selection procedures.

The state or university cannot deviate from the Medical Council of India's regulations. If any changes have to be made in the mode of admission, MCI had to be consulted.

The bench sid withdrawl of negative marks was 'arbitrary' and directed the state government to prepare a fresh rank list in accordance with merit. PTI COR UD VS SPC
