Headless body of a woman chopped into pieces and stuffed into two sacks was found here in Central Maharashtra, police said today.

The sacks were found dumped in a farm near Kurangaon village under Ambad tehsil of the district last evening.

Assistant Police Inspector Ashok Ghornand said the woman may be aged around 25 and a search has been launched for the missing head.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Vikrant Deshmukh and another officer Vasant Pardeshi inspected the body. Prima facie it seems the body was cut into pieces using an electric hacksaw, he said.

Police suspect the murder may have been a result of an illicit affair.
