Heat wave in Rajasthan, Churu hottest at 44 deg C

Rajasthan continued to reel under heat wave conditions with Churu being the hottest place in the state at 44 degrees Celsius.

Bikaner recorded 41.6 degrees while Pilani, Kota, Barmer, Jaisalmer and Jaipur recorded maximum of 41.5, 41.4, 40.6, 40.2 and 40 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to MeT department, the day temperature at other stations was below 40 degrees Celsius.

The weather conditions would remain the same in the state during the next 24 hours, it said.

Meanwhile, Jaipur district collector Siddharth Mahajan has issued orders for the closure of schools at 1230 hrs from Monday.

Mahajan issued the order yesterday in view of the heat wave conditions.
