Heavy rains lashed parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal amid forecast of more in the next three days, while Gangetic West Bengal experienced negligible precipitation today.
Jalpaiguri recorded the highest amount of rainfall at 103 mm, while Coochbehar and the hill town of Darjeeling received 17 mm and 10.3 mm rainfall respectively, the MeT department said.
Burdwan recorded the day's highest temperature in the state at 36 degrees Celsius, while Sriniketan, Bankura and Asansol recorded 35.9 degrees C, 35.1 degrees C and 34.0 degrees C, respectively.

The Met department has forecast heavy rains in Darjeeling, Coochbehar and Jalpaiguri districts in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, while the forecast for Gangetic West Bengal is that of one or two spells of rain in the next two days.
