The heat wave continued to hold sway in Himachal Pradesh, with the maximum temperature soaring up to five to seven degrees above normal in several places of the state.
Una in the Shivalik foothills recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 43.2 degrees Celsius.
The state capital Shimla, Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded maximum temperatures at 29.0 degree, 38.9 degree and 37.4 degree Celsius, five to seven degrees above normal.
The minimum temperatures also rose by two to three degrees with Nahan hottest during the night with a high of 24.3 degree C while Shimla recorded a low of 21.1 degree Celsius, 7.5 degree above normal.
Meanwhile, Dharamsala showed a low of 21.4 degree C, followed by Una 19.2 deg, Sundernagar 16.7 deg, Solan 15.5 deg, Bhuntar 13.3 deg and Manali and Kalpa 10.1 deg C respectively.
The local MeT office has predicted further rise in mercury and dry weather across the state during next four days.
