The Himachal Pradesh government is set to launch the 'Door Delivery Scheme' to provide foodgrains at the doorstep of all ration card holders, Food and Civil Supplies Minister G S Bali said here today.

Under the scheme, the Civil Supplies Corporation would make sure foodgrains are available to the depots so that consumers do not face any inconvenience, the minister said.

The scheme would soon be launched in Kangra district on pilot basis, Bali said.

The minister said, "The process of procuring pulses and edible oil under the Food Subsidy Scheme has been completed and all these items were being sent to all godowns."

He also warned depot holders of stern action if they failed to distribute foodgrains to consumers on time.
