Governor ESL Narasimhan, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and several other leaders today paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 69th death anniversary.
They offered floral tributes to the Father of the Nation at Bapu Ghat, a memorial to Gandhi near the Musi river at Langar Houz.
Gandhi's death anniversary was observed at the offices of various political parties in the city. Two minutes' silence was observed in government offices and also on various roads, when traffic was stopped for the purpose.
Homage was paid to Gandhi at many other places in the state as well.
