Hooda approves 4-laning of Yamunanagar-Ladwa, Ladwa-Karnal

Hooda gave nod to the 54 km roads project while presiding over a review meeting of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department here today.

He was informed that total Viability Gap Funding (VGF) grant of this project was Rs 109 crore which was 28 per cent of the estimated cost. Out of it, 20 per cent would be shared by the Centre and eight per cent by the state government.

The chief minister was told that the department had completed 7,793 kilometre patch works up to July.

A report on progress of patchworks had been sent to concerned Member of Parliament, Member of Legislative Assembly and Deputy Commissioner for transparency, the concerned official told Hooda.

 

It was informed in the meeting that Public Works (B and R) Department had spent Rs 10,356 crore to strengthen road network in the state from year 2005 to 2012 whereas Rs 1,752 crore was spent from 2000 to 2005.

The state had 5,321 kilometre road network in the year 1966-67 which had been increased to 35,134 kilometre in the year 2012-13. Since April 2005, 824 kilometre new roads had been added to the network of roads under Public Works (B and R) Department and 26,993 kilometre long roads had been improved within the same period.
