Hospital director arrested for conducting sex determina'n test

A director of a private hospital in Bawal chowk area here was arrested for allegedly conducting sex determination test on a woman, police said today.

A team of senior health officials led by Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Sarvjit Singh Thapar yesterday raided the hospital and nabbed its director Subhash Sethi while doing a sex determination test on a woman, police said.

Sethi was booked under various sections of the PNDT Act, they said, adding he was produced before the Duty Magistrate today who remanded him in a 14-day judicial custody.
