Telangana Minister for Commercial Taxes, T Srinivas Yadav today escaped unhurt when the lift in a state-run hospital here came down crashing to the ground floor, police said.

The minister who came to St. Theresa Hospital to visit a patient was on his way out and entered the elevator on the first floor to come to the ground floor.

"Lift came crashing to the ground floor apparently due to snapping of suspension wires. Nobody was hurt in the incident," a police official said.

The maintenance of the lift may not be up to the mark, he said adding further probe is on.
