Hot weather conditions persisted in Punjab and Haryana with Hisar recording highest maximum at 40.5 degrees Celsius across both the states.
Muggy conditions prevailed in Union Territory Chandigarh, where the maximum settled at 37.5 deg C, up four notches.
Bhiwani had a high of 38.8 deg C. Mercury in Ambala settled at 36.6 deg C mark, four degrees above normal while Karnal registered maximum at 36 deg C, the MeT report said.
In Punjab, highest maximum was recorded in Patiala at 38.1 deg C, up five degrees. Amritsar recorded a high of 37 deg C, two degrees above normal while Ludhiana's maximum settled at 36.9 deg C, up four notches.
