Hot weather continues in Pb, Haryana

Sweltering heat today prevailed in parts of Punjab and Haryana even as light rains accompanied by duststorm lashed a few places in the region.

According to MeT office, Narnaul in Haryana was the hottest place as it sizzled at 45.5 degrees C, four notches above the normal.

Among other places in Haryana, Bhiwani and Hisar recorded 44.2 degrees C and 44.4 degrees C respectively. Bhiwani also had a rainfall of 1 mm.

Ambala and Karnal had a maximum of 39 degrees C each.

In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala registered the maximum temperature at 39.7 degrees C and 40.4 degrees C respectively while Amritsar had a high of 38.6 deg C.
 

Ludhiana received rainfall of 0.4 mm.

Chandigarh settled at 39.9 degrees C, one notch above normal. Duststorm along with light rain and strong winds even hit power supply in many areas here.

MeT department, in a forecast, said rains or thunderstorm may occur at many places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
