Hotel worker sentenced to life imprisonment

: A local court today sentenced a worker in a hotel to life imprisonment for murdering a woman in 2009 for reportedly compelling his woman co worker to get married.

Police said the 34-year-old man took the woman to Mecheri Kundugal reserve forest area on February 13 2009 with two of his accomplices and murdered her by hitting her head with a boulder.

Additional District Judge Elangovan sentenced Velu to life imprisonment and set free the others for lack of evidence.
