The Congress in Himachal Pradesh has constituted a fact-finding committee to look into incidents of cross voting in the recent zila parishad, panchayat samiti, nagar parishad and clock elections, resulting in defeat of party affiliated candidates.

Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee Media Department Chairman Naresh Chauhan said that the committee, constituted by HPCC chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu, would look into various complaints where party affiliated candidates have lost in the elections.

"HPCC general secretaries Harbhajan Singh Bhajji, Ramlal Thakur, Harshwardhan Chauhan and PCC Secretary Baldev Negi would be the members of the committee and it will look into various complaints and issues that have been raised by party leaders," he said.

Chauhan said that the committee would examine the issues of cross voting in the elections and submit its report to Sukkhu.
