Hry DGP directs CPs, SPs to maintain vigil on New Year eve

Director General of Haryana Police Yash Pal Singal today directed all Commissioners of Police and Superintendents of Police in every districts of the state to maintain utmost vigil on the eve of New Year.

The New Year celebrations attract a large number of revelers in major towns and specifically in the cities and sub-urban areas of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rohtak, Hisar and Panchkula, he said.

Furthermore, pubs and bars in some towns attract large crowds from nearby areas even during late hours of night, he said in an official release issued here today.

To maintain law and order, the officials have been directed to depute maximum force on foot patrolling, mobile patrolling, naka duties, stationary duties, etc at the crowded places, markets, malls, resorts, pubs and bars.
 

Eve-teasing, misbehaving and any other ugly behaviour will be dealt with strictly as per law, he said, adding of anybody is found indulging in such activities, strict action would be initiated against that person.

Besides, adequate traffic arrangements would be made at all traffic junctions and important roads to ensure smooth vehicular movement.

Strict legal action would be taken against drunken driving. Alcho-sensors would be used for detecting drunken driving as well as against hooliganism and drunken brawls, the DGP said.

"Compliance of Motor Vehicle Rules would be ensured. The districts with sobriety check points in place would make them operational with effect from December 28, 2015."

Maximum personnel would be pulled out from the non-operational duties and deployed on law and order and traffic duties while intelligence network would be geared up and necessary preventive action may be taken, if required, he further mentioned.

Senior officers including the Commissioners of Police and district SPs would personally supervise all security and traffic arrangements, he added.
