"Unless Kashmir issue is resolved as per the wishes of the majority of people of the state, loss of human lives will continue and uncertainty will loom over the region," Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani said in a statement.
Geelani said thousands of people living on either side of the Line of Control have been killed since the ceasefire line was drawn 65 years ago.
He expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
Pakistani troops yesterday resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling in Uri sector near the LoC in Baramulla district of Kashmir in which three persons, including two teenagers, were killed.
