A 35-year-old woman was allegedly hacked with a spade by her husband, who suspected her fidelity after a quarrel at Tiruvannamalai-Malaipatti near here today, police said.
The woman Sankarammal was admitted to government hospital in a serious condition, police said, adding, her husband Vairamuthu has been arrested.
The couple, workers of a fire works factory, have two children.
