Husband kills wife

A 35-year-old mentally unsound tribal man killed his wife at Murgakati village in Ghatsila sub-division, a senior police officer today said.

The accused Parav Murmu, who was not sound mentally, has hammered his wife on the head in her sleep around 1 am today, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Musaboni), Ajit Kumar Vimal said.

Murmu's wife died instantly, he said adding that a police team rushed to the village and arrested the culprit.

The body has been sent for post-mortem in M G M Hospital here.
