ICG commemorates 40th Raising Day, conducts coastal cleanup

To commemorate the 40th Raising Day of Indian Coast Guard(ICG), the ICG station at Beypore near here conducted coastal cleanup day today.

About 250 personnel from Coast Guard, Fisheries Department, Marine Police and from nearby areas participated in the event at Pulimootil beach and the debris collected by the volunteers was disposed off at a safer place.

The campaign was aimed at spreading awareness amongst the civil populace and focus on fast degradation of coastal environment and human habitation around coastal belt, a release from the ICG station said.
