Softening its stance on alliance with BJP in Haryana, INLD today maintained that the party would take a call "depending upon situation in future" and indicated that it would give "unconditional support" if Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister after Lok Sabha polls.

"...Earlier there was different (political) situation ...Tomorrow there will be different situation. We will see depending upon situation," INLD MLA Abhay Chautala told reporters responding to queries on the possibility of returning to alliance with the BJP in Haryana.

However, he said BJP members were still friends.

"They (BJP) are our friends and they will remain our friends," he said, adding that in politics, there was neither friend nor enemy.

On many ocassions in the past, INLD had maintained that it would not forge alliance with BJP. At present, BJP is allied with Kuldeep Bishnoi's Haryana Janhit Congress in the state.

Asked about supporting Narendra Modi, Chautala said the party would give "unconditional support" if Modi becomes PM, after the Lok Sabha elections.

"If Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister or any other candidate becomes PM by defeating Congress party, our party's stand is that we will give unconditional support to him," Chautala said.

On PM Manmohan Singh's statement yesterday that "it will be disastrous for the country to have Modi as Prime Minister", Chautala said, "By making such statement, PM Manmohan Singh has admitted (Congress) party's defeat."

To a query, Chautala hoped that the assembly elections in Haryana would be held along with Lok Sabha elections.
