Invest more for wholesome development of children: CRY

A child rights NGO today urged the government and the society to invest more and provide safe environment to the children for their wholesome development.
In an appeal issued on the occasion of Chidren's Day, falling on November 14, it highlighted ten areas concerning children which needs their focus. It include child marriage, child labour, hunger and malnourishment, health care, gender imbalance and education.
"This is an appeal to the governments, authorities, corporations and people to come together to uphold the rights of our children, in their own capacity, at every possible level.
"Investing in children today means that a country such as India has a chance to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty, inadequacy, malnutrition, abuse and violence," said Komal Ganotra, director (Policy, Research and Advocacy), CRY - Child Rights and You.
