Iridium worth about Rs two crore seized

Two kgs of iridium, used as an alloy of platinum, was seized from four persons at Keezhakarai in the district, who were arrested by the Crime Branch Police today.
The value of the precious metal was around Rs two crore in the international market, Q branch police inspector Kennedy said.
The four were trying to smuggle the metal to Sri Lanka, he said.
