J-K govt constitutes cabinet sub-committee on new admin units

Jammu and Kashmir government today constituted a cabinet sub-committee to examine modalities for implementation of the Mushtaq Ganaie Committee Report on creation of new administrative units and to take on-board fresh demands on this account.

The sub-committee, to be headed by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, was constituted at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here, an official spokesman said.

Other members of the committee include Urban Development minister Nawang Rigzin Jora, Public Health Engineering minister Sham Lal Sharma, Agricultural minister Ghulam Hassan Mir, Higher Education minister Akbar Lone, Planning and Development minister Ajay Sadhotra and Parliamentary Affairs minister Mir Saifullah, he said.
 

In another decision, the cabinet approved appointment of Patwaris (revenue officials) against available vacancies from candidates selected through written examination and who have successfully qualified from Government Revenue Training Institutes, he said.

The cabinet also decided that Patwar trainees who do not qualify Revenue Training in the first attempt, shall be given a second chance and upon doing so, shall be appointed as Patwaris, the spokesman said.

The cabinet also accorded sanction to Promulgation of Jammu and Kashmir Para-Medical Council Ordinance 2013 about a training institute for Paramedics, he added.
