The Jammu and Kashmir government today discussed arrangements for the upcoming visit of President Ram Nath Kovind here.
Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh convened an officers' meeting to take stock of arrangements being put in place for upcoming visit of the President to the state on April 18, an official spokesman said.
Singh asked the departments concerned to make sure that all necessary arrangements are made in time for the high-profile visit to the state.
The deputy chief minister stressed on maintaining close coordination among various departments including security to ensure successful visit of Kovind, the spokesman said.
Singh, while reviewing traffic plan for the event, asked the officers to ensure that common people do not have to face any inconvenience due to the arrangements being made for the VVIP visit.
The President is scheduled to address the convocation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University during the visit here.
