All 24 districts in Jharkhand will get Rs five lakh each to meet immediate relief in the event of natural calamity striking any place in Jharkhand, the state Assembly was informed today.
All district deputy commissioners would be authorised to carry out immediate relief in the event of any natural disaster striking anywhere, Disaster Management Minister C P Singh said.
His reply came after Jarmundi's Congress MLA Badal (one name) informed the House that the people of Makchanda village in Deogarh district were facing problems of basic amenities in the aftermath of Cyclone Phailin, which struck last year.
Stating that the people of the affected village had got only Rs 3,000 and 30 kg grain as relief, Badal said electricity and water supplies were yet to be restored in the village.
