Edgy contemporary Indian art and vibrant modern artworks by iconic artists are set to go under the hammer in back-to-back sales by Saffronart auction house on February 12.
Leading the 67 lot Contemporary Day Sale is Bharti Kher's "Train'D To Kill 1," an artwork crafted out of bindis on wooden panel that has been estimated to fetch between Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2 crore.
Other prominent contemporary artists featured include Subodh Gupta, T V Santhosh, Atul and Anju Dodiya, Nataraj Sharma and Thukral and Tagra.

"After a long time we are doing a standalone contemporary auction," Dinesh Vazirani, co-founder Saffronart said.
Meanwhile, the Modern Evening Sale features 70 lots and is led by Jehangir Sabavala's 1977 work "Cape and Promontory". The work also features on the cover of the auction catalogue.
A work by Sabavala titled "The Flight into Egypt- I", sold for Rs 3 crores at a Saffronart auction last year, setting a world record for the artist.
Another work that is featured in the upcoming sale includes "Oasis" a 1975 work by S H Raza.
The sale also features works by other noted modernists including M F Husain, Jagdish Swaminathan, Akbar Padamsee, F N Souza and Gaganendranath Tagore.
"We feel the timing of the auction is good as there has been a lot of momentum in the market post the India Art Fair," Vazirani said.
The sales in Mumbai will include phone and online bidding for local and international bidders.
