Japanese DJ held with drugs worth Rs 8 lakh

A Japanese disc jockey in Goa was arrested for allegedly possessing narcotics worth Rs 8.09 lakh at the popular Anjuna beach village, police said today.

The anti-narcotics cell of Goa police caught 50-year-old Yasuji Hinagata red-handed late last night for possessing charas and liquid LSD, valued at Rs 8.09 lakh on the international market.

The accused, a popular disc jockey, played music in different clubs in north Goa, a police spokesman said.

The raid was conducted around midnight near a football ground in Anjuna village where the accused had come on a two-wheeler to deliver the drugs to a customer.
 

"The raiding party seized 568gm charas worth Rs 85,200 and 1.81gm liquid LSD worth Rs 7,24,000," police said.
