Jeera prices declined 0.31 per cent to Rs 16,235 per quintal in futures trade today, tracking a weak trend at the spot market on sluggish demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in December month eased by Rs 50, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 16,235 per quintal with an open interest of 5,307 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in November contracts weakened by Rs 45, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 15,955 per quintal in 12,531 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts, mainly led to decline in jeera prices at futures trade.
