Jeweller robbed in Raigarh

Two motorcycle-borne miscreants allegedly looted jewellery and cash worth Rs 50 lakh from a jeweller in Sarangarh town in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh.

Murali Swarnkar(63), the director of Murali Jewellers, was about to step out of his shop after closing it, when two miscreants snatched his bag containing jewellery and cash late last evening, Raigarh Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Praphulla Thakur told PTI.

He shouted for help and some passers-by tried to chase the thieves, but in vain.

CCTV footage from the shop was being examined, the ASP said.
