Three persons were allegedly robbed of gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1 crore by unidentified armed miscreants in the district, police said today.

Somdutt and two others, who work as courier for bullion traders, were on their way to Agra from Rajkot in their car when the incident happened, Tidi police station SHO Jintendra Singh said.

The gang of seven to eight members stopped their car and looted the valuables with estimated worth of Rs 1 crore at gunpoint, Singh said.

They also threw chilly power at the victims, he said.

The accused also took away the car and abandoned it a few kilometres from the spot, he added.

"Efforts are on to identify and trace the robbers," he said.
